Celebrate the New Year 2013 in Washington State
The state of Washington, located in the northwest region of the USA and bordered by the Pacific Ocean to the West and the Canadian province of British Columbia to the north, is an economic powerhouse and home to some of the world’s largest corporations. From aircraft manufacturing (Boeing), to software development (Microsoft), to online retailing (Amazon.com), and travelling (Expedia Inc.), Washington State is popular not only for its economic activities but also for tourism. Tourist attractions in the state that are sure to captivate vacationers and revelers include the beautiful Olympic and Cascade Mountain ranges in the Puget Sound, picturesque Mount Rainier and the unique Space Needle. There are a number of fun ways to celebrate New Year's Eve 2013 in the state of Washington.
With events at venues around Riverfront Park and downtown Spokane, this New Year’s Eve celebration includes dances, theatre, art shows, games, a 5 kilometer fun run and a 48-hour film festival. New Year’s Eve Tacoma/Pierce County does not take itself seriously at all. Silly characters, puppet shows, and fire gardens are among the potential festivities. First Night Tri-Cities takes place on the Columbia Basin Campus at venues such as Byron Gjerde Center, the gymnasium, and the outdoor amphitheater. This New Year's festival has lots of live music featuring local talent along with dance, magic, and comedy. Fireworks mark the turn into the New Year. In Seattle, the Space Needle's top house is transformed into a massive New Year's Eve party where guests are treated to a six-course meal followed by dancing on the Observation Deck. The 605-foot Space Needle is also the famous backdrop to thousands of pyrotechnic effects on New Year's Eve. Plan ahead as over 20,000 people gather below the tower to view the firework display at midnight.
