Ring in the New Year 2013 in McAllen
With a population of almost 130000, the city of McAllen in Hidalgo County is the twentieth most popular city in the state of Texas. As a growing city with an increasing cosmopolitan ambiance, the city of McAllen provides a unique balance between big city amenities and a hometown feel. Its subtropical climate provides an ideal background to the city’s many outdoor touristic activities which attract thousands of tourists annually (e.g. birders, nature photographers, and other nature-related visitors). The city’s unique location close to the Mexican border also means that it is able to offer the biggest names in U.S. and Mexican entertainment. Events have been planned in downtown McAllen to usher in the Year 2013 in style.
Diverse events and activities are planned to ring in 2013 by the city of McAllen. Events at downtown McAllen’s New Year’s Eve bash include confetti canons, laser light shows and fireworks at midnight. There will also be performances by four live bands outside the downtown parking garage. The performers include meringue/salsa/bachata group, a rock music group, a latin rock group and country music artists.
