Celebrate the New Year 2013 in Laredo

Separated only by the Rio Grande, the city of Laredo is one of the cities in the southern U.S., whose boundaries almost merge with that of New Laredo located opposite in Mexico. Visitors enjoy the international flair and the many shopping opportunities on both sides of the border. Tourist attractions include the Republic of the Rio Grande Museum.  For those more interested cultural history, visit Laredo Center for the Arts in the old Town Hall on Market Square. Larger concerts, fairs and events take place in Laredo Energy Arena. Opened in 2001, this multi-purpose arena holds up to 10,000 people and is also the venue of the local hockey and the football team. The most popular destination for locals and visitors alike, however, is Lake Casa Blanca International State Park which is just a few miles outside the city. The 680-acre lake attracts not only hobby fishermen, but also those going for a walk, cycling, waterskiing or boating. The adjacent campground hosts many permanent campers who spend the winter months here. The city of Laredo offers revelers exciting events to ring in the New Year 2013.

The city is famous for its blend of cultural heritage, impressive architecture, outdoor recreational activities under all-year-round sunny skies and delicious cuisine flavours. Downtown Laredo, with its cobblestone streets, Spanish colonial architecture, historical hotel and quaint boutiques, is what brings tourists spending the New Year’s Eve in Laredo Texas in 2013/2014 closer to the Mexican experience but also to South Texas hospitality. There are also attractions which are sure to guarantee a unique time of fun and entertainment for the whole family, like the Imaginarium of South Texas, Lake Casa Blanca International State Park or the Lamar Bruni Vergara Planetarium.
