Providence goes its own way, calling Rhode Island's largest New Year's Eve celebration "Bright Night". Bright Night Providence features over 140 artists/performers in over 26 different venues throughout Providence locations, with fireworks and the opening ceremony activities at the Bank of America skating center at Kennedy Drive. The New Year's Eve celebration at Comix in Foxwoods features live DJs, dancing and drinks, party favors, champagne toast, and post-midnight dessert table. The Stela Parties and Events Relay at Westerly co-sponsor a family-friendly New Year's Eve event with a balloon drop, firetruck tours, music and dancing, carnival games and prizes, crafts, photo opportunities complete with dress-up clothes, fun foods, entertainment and more.
