Ring in the New Year 2013 in the state of Oregon
Oregon is a state of the northwest United States on the Pacific Coast and a study in contrasts, from the harsh and arid deserts in the east to the fertile valleys, mountains and moist rainforest in the west. The great physical diversity of the region has provided Oregon with some startling and attractive tourist attractions. Tourists can go rafting, fishing or kayaking in the Rogue River or play golf in more than 200 public golf courses, or go sight-seeing in the dramatic canyons of the Owyhee River, pristine coasts, deserts that stretch as far as the horizon, volcanic mountains, etc. If you are looking for an impromptu New Year’s Eve celebration in 2013, then the state of Oregon is the place to be.
To start the New Year on the right foot, head to Portland’s longest running New Year’s Eve party. This is no ordinary party, this is the 22nd Annual Champagne Ball and it’s going to be one of the biggest parties Portland has ever seen. Manzanita New Year's Eve Parade is a very unique – and impromptu parade. You never know if it will happen or not, but it usually does. Locals and regulars to the town gather suddenly and without warning or instruction at midnight on the main drag and make a lot of impromptu noises. In the past, there have even been wild costumes, such as a dragon wandering down Laneda, Manzanita.
