Oklahoma is a constituent state of the USA that is located in the South Central region of the country. The city of Oklahoma is not only the state’s capital but also the largest city and economic and cultural centre. For adventure lovers and adrenaline junkies, Oklahoma’s combination of extreme activities provides them unique opportunities for action and excitement. There is hot air ballooning and sky diving for those who love taking to the skies. For those who prefer their extreme sports in water, there is parasailing, scuba diving and wakeboarding. Others can go rock climbing and scale the sheer face of a granite mountain, or chase storms in the heart of Oklahoma's Tornado Alley. Several venues in the state of Oklahoma are ringing in 2013 with a variety of New Year’s Eve events.
Opening Night in downtown Oklahoma City has been organized since 1987. With musical acts throughout the night, a fantastic fireworks display and a family-friendly atmosphere with a scavenger hunt, Opening Night is the top way to ring in the New Year for Oklahoma City residents. “The Party! New Year’s Eve Ball Drop” is an outdoor street party in Tulsa, which organizers say takes place on a Times Square environment, will feature a lighted ball drop and fireworks show. Local artists and street entertainers will take the stage during this free event. If you want to remain sober during the night's celebrations, the New Year's Eve Sobriety Powwow is a good choice. This American Indian powwow event will feature a number of dances. Native art, jewelry and other items will be for sale.
