New Year's Eve in Alloa 2013/2013 - from where ale travelled the world

The town of Alloa, set in the Central Lowlands of Scotland and on the north bank of the Firth of Forth, at the foot of the Ochi Hills, is a former burgh in Clackmannanshire, with a resident population of about 19,000 people. With an economy that used to focus mainly on brewing, the town now heavily relies on tourism and is a truly welcoming place for the celebration of the New Year's Eve in Alloa 2012/2013.

The 15th century Alloa Tower (part of the National Trust of Scotland), the only surviving part of the ancestral medieval residence of the Earls of Mar, majestically guards the access to the town. An impressive medieval construction, it is one of the largest and earliest tower houses in Scotland. There are other historic buildings ready to stir the interest of tourists spending the New Year's Eve in Alloa 2012/2013, such as Tobias Bauchop's House, Inglewood House or Greenfield House. Equally interesting are the Alloa Town Hall and Library, designed by the architect Alfred Waterhouse, but also the numerous picturesque villages, like Alva or Tillicoultry.
