Wollongong is a coastal city in the state of New South Wales, Australia. The New Year’s Eve Celebrations organized by the city council of Wollongong is an alcohol free event to showcase some of the local artistic talents and for families and friends to welcome the New Year in some of the city’s most attractive locations. Entertainment kicks off at 7 pm at Wollongong Harbour and features drumming workshops, amusement rides, jazz music, live performances and much more. The highlight of entertainment is the firework which takes place at 9:30 pm. The New Year’s Eve culminates and ends with a big bang as a multi-coloured fireworks display light up the harbour area.
